Garden Competitions

Llanthony District Garden Club

Each year there are a range of competitions for local gardeners to show off their talents. From pruning the perfect hedge to children's flower in a pot there is a chance for everyone. The categories change each year to make the most of the variety of gardens and gardeners in the area.

Quality, Quantity & Perfection are not necessary!

For 2019 the Garden Competition Classes are as follows:

Class One: Most Productive Vegetable Garden

Fred Probert Perpetual Challenge Cup
Judges will be seeking variety and continuity of produce rather than quality and quantity

Class Two: Most Impressive Climber: by size, or amount of                       flowers 

Class Three: Most Perfect Dahlia: any colour 

Class Four: Best Allotment

Class Five: Best Hedge: informal or formal

Class Six: Under 16's: Any Flower or Vegetable Grown from Seed

Entries are FREE, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in all classes.

Judging takes place a week or two before the Show, with results and photographs of the winning entries displayed in the produce tent on Show day

It will be necessary for someone to be available at the entrant’s garden to indicate the items to be judged.
