Garden Competition

In association with Llanthony District Garden Club

Each year, there are a range of competitions for local gardeners to show off their talents. From pruning the perfect hedge to childrens flower in a pot there is a chance for everyone. The categories change each year to make the most of the variety of gardens and gardeners in the area.

Quality, Quantity & Perfection are not necessary!

This year Judging takes place on: Friday July 28th
and entries must be in to Jim Keates by: Monday July 24th

For 2017 the Garden Competition Classes are as follows:

Class One: Most Productive Vegetable Garden

Fred Probert Perpetual Challenge Cup
Judges will be seeking variety and continuity of produce rather than quality and quantity

Class Two: Children's under 12, Best Flower in a Pot

Grown from seed

Class Three: Best Multipurpose Garden

Judges will be looking for a garden used for a variety of purposes e.g. vegetable garden, children’s play area, entertaining area

Class Four: Best Individual Vegetable or Fruit

Growing in a pot or bag

Class Five: Best Trellis

Can be a single plant or a group of plants


Entries are FREE, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in all classes

Results and photographs of the winning entries will be displayed in the produce tent on Show day
